Se trata del Corrosion Resistant Aerial Covert Unmanned Nautical System (CRACUNS).<!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wrapper article-content-wrapper ad-shown\">\n<div class=\"left-column article-left-column\">\n<div class=\"article-scroll-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"article-content rich-text\">\n<p class=\"has-video\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/o17x3XTA-DM?rel=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A group of engineers went the extra mile just so I could make that joke, by naming their unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) the Corrosion Resistant Aerial Covert Unmanned Nautical System, or CRACUNS. The team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jhuapl.edu\/newscenter\/pressreleases\/2016\/160317.asp\">has developed<\/a> a UAV that can launch into the air from a station <em>underwater<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve this, the engineers needed to jump two major hurdles. First, they needed to create a drone that could withstand the water pressure it\u2019d experience while surfacing, so the frame had to be as lightweight as possible to reduce resistance.<\/p>\n<p>Second, they needed to build a machine whose parts would not corrode in a saltwater environment.
