Un caso es el de China, que en 2021 inform\u00f3 haber ensayado con \u00e9xito un misil hipers\u00f3nico del tipo HGV (Hipersonic Glide Vehicle) con capacidad nuclear. En 2020, Rusia realiz\u00f3 su tercer ensayo de vuelo de un misil hipers\u00f3nico, el Zirkon. En relaci\u00f3n con ello, el Pent\u00e1gono (US DoD)\u00a0ha\u00a0comunicado que se est\u00e1n invirtiendo\u00a0US$ 1.3 Billones para el desarrollo de una constelaci\u00f3n de sat\u00e9lites, capaces de detectar y seguir la trayectoria de los extremadamente veloces y maniobrables misiles hipers\u00f3nicos. Estos sat\u00e9lites constituyen \u201cun paso adelante\u201d, en la b\u00fasqueda de sistemas aptos para hacer frente a estas disruptivas amenazas, que en breve estar\u00e1n operativas. El objetivo es disponer de esa capacidad, con los sat\u00e9lites operando en sus \u00f3rbitas correspondientes para el a\u00f1o 2025.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The Pentagon has said it is spending $1.3 billion for the development of advanced satellites that can track hypersonic missile threats. The US defense department aims to put the high-end tracking satellites in orbit by 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The US move comes in the wake of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibtimes.sg\/china-mocks-us-after-secretly-testing-nuclear-capable-hypersonic-missile-report-60787\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">advancements China and Russia have made in its hypersonic missile technology.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Financial Times\u00a0<\/em>reported last year that China tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile in a bid to demonstrate its advanced space capability. &#8220;Chinese military launched a rocket that carried a hypersonic glide vehicle which flew through low-orbit space before cruising down towards its target,&#8221; the report had said.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibtimes.sg\/russia-tests-fatal-hypersonic-missile-trolls-warn-about-greetings-pentagon-54133\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Russia carried out a third successful test of a hypersonic missile<\/a>. The Russians tested a Zircon missile, which President Vladimir Putin has termed a &#8216;weapon of choice&#8217;. Putin called the weapon &#8216;truly unparalleled&#8217;. The new-age weapon is stated to be capable of destroying the cities of America in the event of a nuclear war.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Edge Over ICBMs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The development of hypersonic missiles by the biggest military powers has changed the dynamics and equations of warfare. Though Intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) travels at higher speeds their paths are predictable.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Russia and China have been developing and testing hypersonic glide vehicles \u00e2\u20ac\u201c these advanced missiles that are extremely manoeuvrable,&#8221; Derek Tournear, director of the Space Development Agency, said, according to the South China Morning Post.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10479\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10479\" style=\"width: 736px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/hypersonic-missile.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"736\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/hypersonic-missile.png 736w, https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/hypersonic-missile-300x181.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 736px) 100vw, 736px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10479\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Representative image (Wikimedia Commons)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>New Satellites<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These satellites are specifically designed to go after that next generation version of threats out there so that we can detect and track these hypersonic manoeuvring vehicles and predict their impact point,&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/news\/world\/united-states-canada\/article\/3185757\/us-developing-satellites-track-chinese-and-russian?module=live&amp;pgtype=homepage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tournear added.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon is now aiming at building satellites that can detect the launch of hypersonic missiles and track them as they change course.
