Se espera que el dise\u00f1o final est\u00e9 montado en un cami\u00f3n, con miras a servir como una plataforma de interferencia y detecci\u00f3n de largo alcance.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>WASHINGTON \u2014 The US Army has awarded\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/breakingdefense.com\/2022\/08\/lockheed-delivers-high-energy-laser-four-years-in-the-making-to-us-navy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lockheed Martin<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/breakingdefense.com\/2022\/05\/space-development-agency-taps-gd-iridium-team-for-complex-ground-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General Dynamics Mission Systems<\/a>\u00a0contracts to kick off the first phase of a major electronic warfare program, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/breakingdefense.com\/2020\/09\/army-wants-new-mega-jammer-in-2023-tls-eab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Terrestrial Layer System-Echelons Above Brigade,<\/a>\u00a0the program office announced today.<\/p>\n<p>TLS-EAB will give Army formations larger than brigades new, longer-range electronic warfare systems, an important capability as it seeks to both develop new long-range fires systems and to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/breakingdefense.com\/2022\/04\/army-progresses-on-electronic-warfare-revamp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">modernize a long-neglected electronic warfare toolset<\/a>. The final design is expected to be truck-mounted, with an eye towards serving as a long-range sensing and jamming platform that will help Army leaders fight across the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/electronic-warfare\/2020\/10\/01\/us-army-to-upgrade-bigger-units-with-new-electronic-warfare-gear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">far distances of the Pacific<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lockheed and General Dynamics will share a $15 million other transaction agreements contract for the first phase of the program, which will last 11 months. Under that first phase, the companies will participate in a competitive developmental process, according to the press release from Program Executive Office for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors, which manages the program. That will include \u201cconcept design, system design review and a software architecture demonstration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The TLS-EAB platform will improve the service\u2019s information superiority, targeting and long-range fires capabilities on the battlefield, a critical piece for joint all-domain operations, according to the PEO IEW&amp;S website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Terrestrial Layer System Echelons Above Brigade is planned as an extended-range, terrestrial sensing, collection, and electromagnetic attack system(s) providing integrated Signals Intelligence, Electronic Warfare (EW) and Cyber capabilities for situational awareness, situational understanding, indications &amp; warnings, command post protection operations, and support the delivery of lethal and non-lethal effects in a holistic, synchronized manner for large-scale combat operations,\u201d said Ken Strayer, Project Manager for Electronic Warfare &amp; Cyber.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s award is the first of five phases, according to an Army spokesperson. The second phase will be prototype build, test and integration; the third phase will examine production readiness and operational assessment; the fourth phase will see the Army equip and transition to a follow-on program; and the final phase will be the design and development of future material solutions. The total value of the OTA across the five phases is about $163 million, the release states.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Breaking Defense earlier this year, Strayer said the final timeline for the program was dependent \u201con what our two competitive offers propose and what the Army decides they actually want to go out and prototype.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>PEO IEW&amp;S also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/breakingdefense.com\/2022\/07\/with-new-contract-armys-integrated-ew-and-intel-system-for-brigades-reaches-next-phase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently awarded a contract to Lockheed Martin<\/a>\u00a0for the development of a brigade-level electronic warfare program, called TLS-Brigade Combat Team.
