<\/h1>\nEl TNO, Nederlandse Organisatie voor Toegepast Natuurwetenschappelijk Onderzoek, u Organizaci\u00f3n de los Pa\u00edses Bajos para la Investigaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica Aplicada, es una organizaci\u00f3n independiente, no gubernamental, que se dedica a la investigaci\u00f3n en cinco campos: Energ\u00eda, Industria, Vida saludable, Urbanizaci\u00f3n y Defensa y seguridad. Dentro de este \u00faltimo campo, y trabajando asociada con instituciones de Suecia, Alemania, el Reino Unido, Turqu\u00eda, Israel y tambi\u00e9n de los Pa\u00edses Bajos, se encuentra desarrollando el proyecto SUBCOP para tratar de encontrar soluciones al problema de prevenir y detener a un terrorista suicida con explosivos antes que pueda llevar adelante un atentado.<\/p>\n
<\/h1>\nSUBCOP<\/b> addresses the extraordinary challenge of how to intervene in a suicide bombing event using less than lethal means.<\/p>\n
SUBCOP<\/b> sets out to develop technologies and procedures that can be applied by the Police Security Forces when responding to a suspected PBIED (Person Borne Improvised Explosive Device). The core objectives for SUBCOP<\/b> are to consider;<\/p>\n SUBCOP<\/b> addresses the course of action to take when an alert to a possible PBIED has been issued and an attack may be imminent.\n
\nIt acknowledges that an alert may only give cause for suspecting the presence of a PBIED, and that this suspicion can be of lower or higher confidence.
\nSUBCOP<\/b> will develop guidance as to what response to a PBIED that is ethically and socially justifiable for such a given situation.
\nSUBCOP<\/b> is insensitive to how the alert is raised, should it be based on detection of explosives or explosive devices,
\ninformants’ reporting, or other intelligence sources.
\nSUBCOP<\/b> is a collaborative three year project between 11 different organizations from six European Union and associated states. The project is financed by the European Union through the 7 th Framework Programme.<\/p>\n
