En el marco del Programa insignia MERKAVA y el directorio de Veh\u00edculos Blindados de las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI), se ha entregado el 1er NAMER 1500. El sistema NAMER en servicio desde 2008, es una plataforma de combate blindada a orugas para transporte de personal (APC). Este APC se dise\u00f1\u00f3 sobre la base del tanque MERKAVA, originalmente con un motor de 1200 hp y la capacidad de transportar 10 soldados adem\u00e1s de la tripulaci\u00f3n. Mantiene muchas de las capacidades disponibles en el citado tanque, en especial las relacionadas con la supervivencia del sistema e incorpora los m\u00e1s avanzados desarrollos tecnol\u00f3gicos. Esta nueva versi\u00f3n, el NAMER 1500, es propulsado por una planta motriz de 1500hp y junto con el APC 8×8 EITAN, forman parte del ambicioso programa de largo plazo de las FDI, para el reemplazo total de los ya obsoletos Carrier M113.<\/p>\n

The Israeli Ministry of Defense has\u00a0received<\/a>\u00a0its first new Namer 1500 armored personnel carrier (APC).<\/p>\n

The Namer 1500 was developed as part of Israel\u2019s Merkava and Armored Vehicle Directorate tank flagship project to replace the country\u2019s aging M113 APC vehicles.<\/p>\n

The vehicle combines the Israel Defense Forces\u2019 (IDF) existing \u201cNagmash,\u201d a Namer APC variant launched in 2008, with the capabilities of the Merkava main battle tank.<\/p>\n

Additional features were integrated by incorporating Israeli military experiences following the 2014 Gaza War.<\/p>\n

The vehicle\u2019s name was derived from its 1,500 horsepower engine for enhanced speed and power in combat.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Namer 1500 has several touchscreen capabilities for improved access and protection.<\/p>\n

Eitan Armored Personnel Carrier<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Namer delivery follows a\u00a02022 contract\u00a0seeking \u201chundreds\u201d of APCs for the Israeli Defense Forces.<\/p>\n

US-based military vehicle developer\u00a0Oshkosh Defense was selected to supply \u201cEitan\u201d<\/a>\u00a0750-horsepower units to Israel.<\/p>\n

While no order total has been confirmed, the country is reportedly receiving approximately 500 APCs.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0first Eitan platform was shipped<\/a>\u00a0to the country in May.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe contract with Oshkosh Defense is an important milestone in the \u2018Eitan\u2019 project. This step allows us to expand the project\u2019s production resources to provide advanced APCs to the IDF,\u201d IDF Tank and APC Directorate Brig. Gen.\u00a0Oren Giber<\/b>\u00a0stated regarding the contract award.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis agreement may also present further opportunities for the Ministry of Defense and Israeli defense industries to export the \u2018Eitan\u2019 APC and its deployed systems.\u201d<\/p>\n
