Los prototipos de la nueva etapa son denominados\u00a0XM30 \u201cMechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle\u201d e incorporan revolucionarias tecnolog\u00edas\u00a0y sistemas, como el arma principal de 50mm con sistema de tiro asistido por IA, drones operados desde la plataforma, mayor supervivencia para la tripulaci\u00f3n y hasta un \u201c3er tripulante virtual\u201d, seg\u00fan afirma la empresa Raytheon.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The American Rheinmetall-led Team Lynx has been awarded Phase 3 and Phase 4 contracts for its Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) by the US Army.<\/p>\n<p>Team Lynx and General Dynamics are the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedefensepost.com\/2023\/06\/27\/rheinmetall-general-dynamics-bradley-replacement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two remaining competitors<\/a>\u00a0in the potential $45 billion five-phased program to replace the four-decade-old Bradley infantry fighting vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The original competitors included BAE Systems, Oshkosh Defense, and Point Blank Enterprises.<\/p>\n<p><b>Phases 3, 4, 5<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Phase 3 will see the two companies providing detailed designs for the platform, now renamed the XM30 Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>In the fourth phase, seven to 11 prototypes of the XM30 vehicle will be built for evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rheinmetall.com\/en\/media\/news-watch\/news\/2023\/8\/2023-08-07-american-rheinmetall-vehicles-awarded-contract-for-us-army-xm30-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contract<\/a>\u2019s total cost exceeds $700 million.<\/p>\n<p>The army plans to down-select one vendor for low-rate initial production in the final phase near the end of 2027, with fielding expected to begin in 2029.<\/p>\n<p><b>Next-Gen Infantry Combat Vehicle<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Team Lynx\u2019s vehicle candidate is based on the design of Rheinmetall\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rheinmetall.com\/en\/products\/tracked-vehicles\/tracked-armoured-vehicles\/lynx-infantry-fighting-vehicle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lynx KF41<\/a>, featuring a two-soldier crew and a third AI-powered virtual third crew member,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedefensepost.com\/2021\/04\/15\/rheinmetall-joins-firms-replace-bradley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Raytheon Technologies said in 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will design a vehicle where artificial intelligence detects, identifies, and tracks a target, but leaves the engagement decision to the soldier,\u201d said Raytheon capability analyst<b>\u00a0Pat McCormack<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Team Lynx comprises American Rheinmetall, Textron Systems, Raytheon Technologies, L3Harris Technologies, Allison Transmission, and Anduril Industries.<\/p>\n<p>General Dynamics is offering the Griffin III technology demonstrator based on the Ajax scout vehicle chassis.<\/p>\n<p><b>Features<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Team Lynx vehicle will feature a modular design and open architecture for mission-specific configurations.<\/p>\n<p>It will be armed with a 50-millimeter cannon and host a variety of drones.<\/p>\n<p>It is also expected to feature guided missiles, high-performance thermal sights, and accommodate nine soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>The team is aiming to provide \u201ca combat vehicle with superior protection, unsurpassed firepower, and unbeatable mobility,\u201d according to American Rheinmetall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOperating with other units or independently, the vehicle can sense, move, and strike in a connected, rapidly changing, complex, and lethal operational environment unlike any Infantry Combat Vehicle before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuente:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedefensepost.com\/2023\/08\/08\/rheinmetall-us-army-bradley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>https:\/\/www.thedefensepost.com<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El US Army avanza en la adjudicaci\u00f3n de contratos para el desarrollo de su programa Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle\u00a0(OMFV).
