El programa \u201cMulti Function Electronic Warfare Air- Large\u201d (MFEW-AL), tiene la capacidad de accionar desde el aire sobre el Espectro Electromagn\u00e9tico de la zona objetivo, con la finalidad de neutralizar al enemigo actuando sobre sus comunicaciones, guiado de armas, geoposicionamiento y Comando &amp; Control. Est\u00e1 siendo evaluado en un UAS MQ-1 Gray Eagle, pero el objetivo final es disponer de un equipamiento de tipo modular, apto para su colocaci\u00f3n en diferentes plataformas UAS.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">AUGUSTA, Ga. \u2014 The U.S. Army subjected an in-the-works aerial jammer to testing and soldier scrutiny, with initial feedback proving positive, according to one acquisition official.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/electronic-warfare\/2022\/08\/25\/army-demos-aerial-jammer-amid-push-to-catch-up-in-electronic-warfare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Multi-Function Electronic Warfare-Air Large<\/a>, or MFEW-AL, is part of the Army\u2019s reinvestment in sophisticated electronic warfare technologies after years of neglect. Lockheed Martin is spearheading development of the self-contained pod, which was initially intended for mounting aboard an MQ-1C Gray Eagle drone, made by General Atomics, but is now being considered for wider use.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Brig. Gen. Ed Barker, the program executive officer for intelligence, electronic warfare and sensors, or PEO IEW&amp;S, on Aug. 15 told C4ISRNET a developmental test was conducted at the China Lake weapons range in California and that the service is \u201cgetting MFEW in the hands\u201d of troops.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve had soldiers both at China Lake and then up at 10th Mountain Division,\u201d<b>\u00a0<\/b>Barker said in an interview on the sidelines of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/smr\/technet-augusta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AFCEA TechNet Augusta conference<\/a>\u00a0in Georgia. \u201cThe software and hardware is stable. I think we\u2019re in pretty good shape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Electronic warfare is a high-stakes game of cat and mouse tethered to the electromagnetic spectrum. Militaries rely upon the spectrum \u2014 and its manipulation \u2014 for weapons guidance, navigation and communication, among other vital tasks.<\/p>\n<p>The Army and other services are reprioritizing electronic warfare as the Pentagon prepares for potential conflict with Russia or China. The spectrum would be hotly contested in a fight with either. The targeting of military chatter, networks and drones in Eastern Europe\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c4isrnet.com\/electronic-warfare\/2023\/08\/11\/ukraine-war-driving-us-army-electronic-warfare-development-bush-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">is adding to the urgency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Barker and others are awaiting formal feedback from the Army Test and Evaluation Command.
