Rosoboronexport, la agencia rusa de exportaci\u00f3n de productos para la defensa, ha informado que busca socios para instalar las capacidades de producci\u00f3n de UAS de empleo militar, en pa\u00edses de Medio Oriente como Emiratos \u00c1rabes Unidos (EAU). Representantes de la compa\u00f1\u00eda, se refirieron as\u00ed a la posibilidad de un amplio Acuerdo de Cooperaci\u00f3n Industrial, para instalar infraestructura de fabricaci\u00f3n de UAS en los pa\u00edses que ya son clientes de esos productos, como EAU y otros. Ocurre que la guerra en Ucrania, le demanda a Rusia la totalidad de su producci\u00f3n de los conocidos UAS Lancet, Orlan, Zala y otros, por lo que no le quedan saldos excedentes para exportar. La guerra en Ucrania no es de corto plazo y Rusia teme que sus clientes comiencen a comprar productos de la competencia como Turqu\u00eda o Israel, de reconocida calidad y prestigio. Y Medio Oriente es un mercado laboriosamente desarrollado por Rusia a lo largo de los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os y que no quiere perder.<\/p>\n
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates \u2014 Russian defense exports agency Rosoboronexport has said it wants to establish drone production facilities in the Middle Eastern region, including the UAE, as Moscow attempts to grab market share in a region it deems receptive to the idea.<\/p>\n
State-owned Russian media agency TASS cited the export agency as saying it would make overtures to regional governments at the UMEX 2024 conference here, held here on Jan. 23-25, singling out the show\u2019s host nation in particular.<\/p>\n
\u201cCompany representatives will speak about broad capabilities in the field of industrial cooperation to localize drone production on the territory of the customer, hold joint work to create prospective samples with the use of Russian competences in their design,\u201d TASS reported.<\/p>\n
In the last two years, Russia\u2019s military-industrial complex has been focused on supporting the invasion of Ukraine, which has now reached a standstill with roughly one-fifth of the country occupied, according to analysts. The rate of equipment consumed on the battlefield has left little for Moscow to export.<\/p>\n
The Middle East recorded an increase in Russian arms purchases before the Moscow\u2019s war against Ukraine. Since then, however, governments here seem to be leaning more towards Western weapons.<\/p>\n
In the unmanned systems sector, the Gulf region has looked to a greater extent to Turkey as a key supplier. In July, Saudi Arabia placed an order for Akinci combat drones, which the Turkish manufacturer Baykar referred to as the \u201cbiggest sale\u201d to date between the two nations. This contract brought the number of Gulf customers of Baykar drones to four, along with Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE.<\/p>\n
