El proyecto se realiz\u00f3 junto con la empresa Moog, que desarroll\u00f3 el sistema de armas C-UAS, consistente en una \u201ctorreta aut\u00f3noma para defensa a\u00e9rea cercana\u201d, equipada con Radar hemisf\u00e9rico Multi Misi\u00f3n y el ca\u00f1\u00f3n de 30mm XM914 de Northrop Grumman. Cabe destacar que el ambicioso programa AMPV, cuyo objetivo es el reemplazo de los Blindados de Transporte M113 con muchas d\u00e9cadas en servicio, busca disponer de una Plataforma Modular flexible y configurable para diferentes necesidades operativas, siendo una de ellas la versi\u00f3n C-UAS ensayada en esta oportunidad.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">WASHINGTON \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/land\/2023\/08\/04\/us-army-greenlights-armored-vehicle-for-full-rate-production\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BAE Systems<\/a>\u00a0said it successfully\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/industry\/techwatch\/2023\/10\/09\/bae-preps-adaptable-armored-vehicle-turret-for-counter-drone-missions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tested a counter-drone capability on one of the U.S. Army\u2019s Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicles<\/a>\u00a0in a recent live-fire event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/pentagon\/2023\/12\/04\/counter-drone-tech-need-like-that-of-155mm-shells-pentagons-laplante\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">counter-unmanned aircraft system<\/a>\u00a0prototype, developed in collaboration with Moog, showed it could detect, track, identify, and defeat or disable both stationary and moving targets on the ground and in the air in \u201crealistic battlefield scenarios\u201d at the Big Sandy Range in Kingman, Arizona, BAE said in a Jan. 23 statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The prototype demonstrated \u201cthe turret engaging with ground targets and utilizing a slew-to-cure capability to target both stationary and moving small drones with 30mm proximity rounds,\u201d the statement noted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The demonstration\u2019s \u201cpositive results exemplify opportunities for future capability growth within the purpose-built modular framework of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/industry\/2022\/10\/11\/us-army-bae-aim-to-accelerate-armored-vehicle-production\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AMPV platform<\/a>,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">BAE built the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/land\/2023\/03\/14\/first-unit-gets-new-armored-multi-purpose-vehicles-replacing-old-m113s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AMPV<\/a>\u00a0early on to be modular and flexible for future configurations, according to Bill Sheehy, the company\u2019s AMPV program director.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">BAE first unveiled the prototype at the Association of the U.S. Army\u2019s annual conference in October 2023. It features both the existing chassis but includes enhancements such as the firm\u2019s External Mission Equipment Package top plate, which enables rapid integration of future technologies and capabilities, the company said in the statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">That package on the cUAS prototype, for example, is configured with Moog\u2019s Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform turret. The Army has already validated the integration of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/land\/2021\/04\/23\/first-short-range-air-defense-systems-deploy-to-europe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">maneuver short-range air defense<\/a>\u00a0turret for the AMPV, just one of the 30 turret systems enabled by Moog\u2019s weapons package, the company said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Moog\u2019s cUAS weapon system includes Leonardo DRS\u2019 Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar and Northrop Grumman\u2019s XM914 30mm gun; both are components on the Stryker combat vehicle-based M-SHORAD system already fielded with the Army.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">AMPV reached full-rate production in 2023.
