Galido.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Elbit Systems has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Agiladivision\/posts\/pfbid0zRnp9qKQHefTakqsMTev5j6FgWuwMzxaD4vorLgJcg4NmZiLmQzep6REwYBeKAhbl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sent<\/a>\u00a0the first batch of Guarani 6\u00d76 armored personnel carriers (APCs) to the Philippine Army.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicles are part of a $46-million\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiapacificdefensejournal.com\/2021\/02\/philippines-awards-contract-to-elbit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deal<\/a>\u00a0signed in 2020 to deliver 28 Guaranis to a then-undisclosed country in the Asia Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>All five APCs made their first public appearance at a ceremony in Santa Lucia, Tarlac.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicles will be used by the force\u2019s Armor Division, providing operational readiness for a \u201cworld-class, multi-mission-ready, and cross-domain capable armor force.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to establish a stronger armed force for a \u2018newer Philippines,\u2019\u201d Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen.\u00a0<b>Roy M. Galido<\/b>\u00a0said about the acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>The Armor Division will conduct technical inspections of the new vehicles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Guarani APC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Developed by Iveco for the Brazilian Army, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.idvgroup.com\/products\/armoured-vehicles\/guarani-amphibious-armoured-vehicle-6x6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guarani<\/a>\u00a0APC is the predecessor of Brazil\u2019s EE-11 Urutu amphibious carrier.<\/p>\n<p>Its main armament is a 30 mm Mk44 Bushmaster II autocannon.
