Rusia ha anunciado oficialmente los cambios en su \u201cDoctrina de empleo de Armas Nucleares\u201d. Seg\u00fan las autoridades rusas, esta nueva doctrina establece bajo que escenarios, el poderoso arsenal de sistemas de armas nucleares puede ser utilizado. El cambio fundamental es que, cuando la soberan\u00eda o integridad territorial rusa se vea amenazada, inclusive por el ataque de un enemigo que emplea armas convencionales como misiles, aeronaves o artiller\u00eda, que han sido proporcionadas por otro pa\u00eds con capacidad nuclear, Rusia podr\u00e1 utilizar armas nucleares al considerar que el pa\u00eds proveedor de las armas, tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 siendo parte del ataque. Esta declaraci\u00f3n de las autoridades rusas, es considerada como el trazado de una nueva \u201cL\u00ednea roja\u201d frente a la NATO y aliados por su apoyo a Ucrania en la guerra que lleva ya tres a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Russia has officially announced that amendments to its nuclear doctrine have been prepared and are ready to be formalized. Announced on Sunday (Sept 29) by official Kremlin sources, this new doctrine will set out under which scenarios Russia\u2019s substantial nuclear weapon stockpile could be used against perceived aggression against Russia.<\/p>\n

This comes after President Vladimir Putin warned the world on Wednesday (Sept 25) that proposed changes would include the use of conventional weapons against Russia\u2019s sovereign territory. Such weapons would include things like missiles, artillery shells, etc.<\/p>\n

The new doctrine<\/a>\u00a0rules will also find any nuclear power supporting such attacks as complicit and, therefore, deemed a joint attack against Russia. Putin\u2019s declaration has seen him drawing a new \u201cred line\u201d against countries like the United States and its allies.<\/p>\n

It is also seen as a signal that Moscow will now consider the use of\u00a0nuclear weapons<\/a>\u00a0if the NATO countries allow Ukraine to strike deep inside Russian territory with Western-supplied long-range weapons.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s new \u201cRed Line\u201d nuclear doctrine<\/strong><\/p>\n

Putin also<\/a>\u00a0explained that the changes were needed to adapt to emerging threats. Although he didn\u2019t explicitly mention Ukraine, the proposed measures seemed connected to Moscow\u2019s offensive launched in February 2022.<\/p>\n

At present, Russian nuclear doctrine sets criteria such as enemy invasion or the destruction of around 20% of its strategic ballistic missile submarines as justifying the use of nuclear weapons. Other things like strikes on its coastal command centers in which nuclear weapon deployment could be used to blunt the aggression of attackers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
