El mismo tiene por objetivo el desarrollo y producci\u00f3n de una nueva plataforma blindada de combate, que a futuro (Se estima a\u00f1o 2040) reemplace a los tanques de batalla (MBT) LEOPARD 2 (Alemania) y LECLERC (Francia). Participan del programa: KNDS Alemania (KMW), Rheinmetall (Alemania), KNDS Francia (Nexter) y THALES (Francia). MGCS ser\u00e1 un \u201cSistema de Sistemas\u201d, integrado por un tanque de batalla con un arma principal de tubo de 130 \/ 140mm, acompa\u00f1ado por sistemas aut\u00f3nomos terrestres y a\u00e9reos, con la incorporaci\u00f3n de IA en C<sup>3<\/sup>I y armamento. Teniendo en cuenta la necesidad de reemplazar la gran cantidad de MBT provistos a los ej\u00e9rcitos europeos que llevan d\u00e9cadas en servicio, se considera que MGCS es el programa terrestre con m\u00e1s potencial industrial de la defensa de Europa.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Germany\u2019s KNDS Deutschland and Rheinmetall Land Systems and France\u2019s KNDS France and Thales have signed an agreement to form the MGCS Project Company.<\/p>\n<p>The deal sees the company equally owned by the four companies and the two countries sharing equally in the workshare. The new entity will be based in Cologne, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement it was noted that \u201cthe project company will be responsible as prime contractor for the implementation of the next phase of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/plus.shephardmedia.com\/programmes\/detail\/mgcs-france\/?_gl=1*16foyd0*_gcl_au*MTQyMDA2NDUuMTczNjI2NDIyNg..\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MGCS programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn particular, it will consolidate the concept and the main technological pillars of the system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The latest step is an important one in the trans-European development of this class of platform which is less usual than that for aircraft, notably the Eurofighter Typhoon and Airbus A400M, and naval vessels.<\/p>\n<p>It follows French and German governments signing of a Letter of Intent for the programme in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shephardmedia.com\/news\/landwarfareintl\/franco-german-next-generation-tank-project-moves-forward\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">April last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The MGCS programme will be divided into eight pillars: chassis and automated navigation; cannon, turret and ammunition; C4; simulation environment; sensor technology; protection and uncrewed vehicle defence; secondary armament; and support, logistics and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The design of MGCS has been undertaking the process of being finalised but it will likely be armed with a Nexter 140mm or Rheinmetall 130mm smoothbore gun fed by an automatic loader which will allow the crew of three to be seated in the protected hull.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuente: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shephardmedia.com\/news\/landwarfareintl\/franco-german-company-formed-to-develop-and-build-new-main-ground-combat-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>https:\/\/www.shephardmedia.com<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Se ha concretado\u00a0la formaci\u00f3n de una nueva compa\u00f1\u00eda Franco \u2013 Germana, para llevar adelante el programa Main Ground Combat System (MGCS).
