Este programa ha ensayado hasta ahora miles de productos como armamento, drones, veh\u00edculos , sistemas de Com y GE, Sistemas \u201cContra Drones\u201d (C \u2013 UAS), etc.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\"><strong>HUNTSVILLE, Ala.\u2014<\/strong>The Army is doubling down on its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defenseone.com\/technology\/2024\/10\/how-two-units-are-learning-each-other-army-moves-modernize\/400431\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transformation in Contact\u00a0<\/a>modernization model, the service\u2019s top operations officer said Tuesday\u2014adding more units into the program and multiplying the number of systems they\u2019ll test as well as the funding to make it all happen.<\/p>\n<p>The service plans to spend $1 billion on the effort between now and the end of fiscal year 2027, Lt. Gen. Joe Ryan told an audience at AUSA\u2019s Global Force Symposium. That\u2019s a huge jump from the $15 million the Army spent on the first three TiC brigades in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;re in the process of turning the ship around to do things differently: process, materiel acquisition, organizational development, organizational change,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Transformation in Contact allows defense contractors to bring the systems they\u2019re working on to Army units in the field, get live feedback, and make immediate changes\u2014an attempt to break the Army out of a rigid cycle of drafting requirements and building systems from the ground up.<\/p>\n<p>The first iteration tested 360 unmanned aerial systems, 800 mobility systems, 50 counter-UAS systems, 20 persistent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defenseone.com\/threats\/2024\/05\/russian-space-nuke-could-render-low-earth-orbit-unusable-year-us-official-says\/396245\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lower-orbit<\/a>\u00a0communications systems, and 10 electronic warfare systems, Ryan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo certainly not anything to sneeze at, but not a huge lift,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"l-content-row l-relative\">\n<div class=\"content-body wysiwyg l-content-well wysiwyg-article\">\n<p>This next go around, the Army wants to bump that up to 1,100 UAS, 2,000 mobility systems, 1,200 counter-UAS systems and 250 electronic warfare systems, he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"l-content-row l-relative\">\n<div class=\"content-body wysiwyg l-content-well content-body-last\">\n<p>The program will also expand beyond the three infantry brigade combat teams the Army started with, to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defenseone.com\/technology\/2024\/10\/army-expand-tech-equipping-effort\/400296\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">different types of units<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there was probably some perception that there was risk, the way we were doing it up front\u2014maybe it seemed a little haphazard\u2026as we reallocated fieldings to prioritize certain units over others,\u201d Ryan said.<\/p>\n<p>A Stryker brigade and two armored combat brigades will participate over the next few years. And by fall, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George said at October\u2019s AUSA annual symposium, \u201cprotection and sustainment\u201d units will also be included.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the Army is trying to break out of its acquisitions comfort zone, to varying degrees of success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would articulate it the best I could that, and this might be a little provocative: I&#8217;m not sure we need acquisition reform as much as we need behavior reform,\u201d Neil Thurgood, a senior vice president at venture capital-backed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defenseone.com\/business\/2025\/03\/anduril-wins-642m-marines-counter-drone-tech-contract\/403635\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anduril<\/a>, and a retired lieutenant general, said during another panel. \u201cI think we have lots of authorities from Congress.
