Desarrollado y fabricado por la National University of Defense Tecnology (NUTD), el dron dispone de peque\u00f1as alas y tres patas que adem\u00e1s de sus dimensiones, simulan el comportamiento en vuelo del insecto real. Photo: China\u2019s CCTV\/NUDT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"rise-of-miniature-drones\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rise of Miniature Drones<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s unveiling of the mosquito-sized drone follows an earlier debut of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2024\/08\/07\/china-military-spy-drones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bird-inspired surveillance system<\/a>, reportedly modeled after the Eurasian tree sparrow.<\/p>\n<p>Revealed during the 2024 anniversary of the People\u2019s Liberation Army, the drone is believed to be an ornithopter, an aircraft that stays airborne by flapping its wings.<\/p>\n<p>The US military has also embraced small-scale drones.
