Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has unveiled the LAHAT ALPHA, a next-generation addition to its Laser-Homing Anti-Tank (LAHAT) missile family, designed for engagements at ranges exceeding 20 kilometres.<\/p>\n
The 2-metre, 25-kilogram system features a large warhead effective against armoured vehicles, fortified structures, coastal positions, and fast-moving targets.<\/p>\n
Designed for stand-off operations, the missile can be launched from ground vehicles or helicopters to engage targets designated by ground or airborne laser designators.<\/p>\n
According to IAI, the missile\u2019s laser-homing guidance allows reliable operation in GPS-denied environments. The company also notes that LAHAT ALPHA is user-friendly, requiring less than one week of operator training.<\/p>\n
The unveiling of LAHAT ALPHA\u2019s reflects a broader global trend towards precision-guided munitions capable of delivering tank-level lethality from safer stand-off distances.<\/p>\n
