La disminuci\u00f3n del optimismo entre los trabajadores que pueden trabajar a distancia podr\u00eda deberse a una posible reducci\u00f3n de las oportunidades laborales en este \u00e1mbito, provocada por\u00a0cambios en las pol\u00edticas empresariales o por la automatizaci\u00f3n del trabajo intelectual.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Despite the recent downturn, employee engagement is eight percentage points higher than it was in Gallup\u2019s first measurement in 2009 and five points higher than it was a decade ago. Each percentage point accounts for approximately 21 million employees working for organizations. For millions of workers, the workplace has improved.<\/p>\n<p>That said, recent years are a cause for concern. This is the first time global engagement has dropped for two consecutive years. The largest drop was in South Asia (-5 points).
