El informe Technology Trends Outlook 2026 de la consultora McKinsey se\u00f1ala que la innovaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica entra en una nueva fase donde su impacto se traslada cada vez m\u00e1s al mundo f\u00edsico. La inteligencia artificial contin\u00faa siendo el principal motor de cambio, pero su expansi\u00f3n ya no depende solo de nuevos algoritmos, sino de avances en tecnolog\u00edas de apoyo como semiconductores, centros de datos, redes el\u00e9ctricas, rob\u00f3tica, plataformas de descubrimiento cient\u00edfico y sistemas espaciales. Por ello, la inversi\u00f3n se orienta masivamente hacia la infraestructura y la energ\u00eda, y el reto clave pasa a ser desarrollar el hardware, el talento y la capacidad operativa necesarios para implementar la IA a gran escala. McKinsey identifica 14 tendencias tecnol\u00f3gicas clave agrupadas en tres \u00e1mbitos \u2014la revoluci\u00f3n de la IA, las fronteras de la computaci\u00f3n y la conectividad, y la ingenier\u00eda de vanguardia\u2014, e incorpora dos nuevas tendencias: el desarrollo de software con capacidad de agencia y la IA para el descubrimiento cient\u00edfico y la ingenier\u00eda. El informe subraya que la IA no es una tendencia aislada, sino un factor habilitador de muchas otras tecnolog\u00edas, y advierte que su velocidad sin precedentes plantea desaf\u00edos organizativos: escasez de energ\u00eda, talento, capital e infraestructura, junto con riesgos crecientes de ciberseguridad. En este contexto, McKinsey destaca cinco temas que configuran el panorama tecnol\u00f3gico \u2014mayor autonom\u00eda de las m\u00e1quinas, avances m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidos de lo que las organizaciones pueden asimilar, menor margen para la ciberdefensa, mayor integraci\u00f3n hardware-software y presi\u00f3n sobre los sistemas energ\u00e9ticos\u2014 y concluye que el \u00e9xito exigir\u00e1 no solo adoptar nuevas tecnolog\u00edas, sino redise\u00f1ar procesos, capacidades laborales y modelos operativos.<\/p>\n

The technology story of 2026<\/strong> has moved off the screen and into the physical world. Innovation is accelerating in the power grids and chips that underpin the data center boom; in the intelligent robots that embody AI; in the agentic systems discovering new chemical compounds; and in the launch pads sending thousands of satellites into orbit.<\/p>\n

AI needs energy to scale. That\u2019s one reason energy technologies alone drew nearly $200 billion in investment in 2025, among the highest capital influx in any technology domain. And spending on AI infrastructure doubled in a single year. These developments show that the defining questions today are not only about what technology can do. They are also about who can build the hardware and assemble the skilled workforce to deploy AI in the real world. At the same time, huge leaps were made in cybersecurity and software development\u2014illustrating that AI is accelerating the digital frontier, too.<\/p>\n
