La empresa Aerovironment ha presentado la nueva generaci\u00f3n de su familia de municiones merodeadoras Switchblade, que incluye al Switchblade 600 Block 2 y al nuevo Switchblade 400, con el prop\u00f3sito de potenciar sus capacidades antitanque y de combate multi-dominio. AeroVironment has unveiled the next wave of its combat-proven Switchblade loitering munitions, adding three new variants designed for multi-domain combat and a wider range of anti-armor roles.<\/p>\n

The lineup is led by the Switchblade 600 Block 2, featuring enhanced avionics and is optimized for extended engagements. It uses AI to detect targets automatically, while its encrypted navigation signal helps it stay connected even in contested or jammed environments.<\/p>\n

It also reportedly loiters longer than previous models and supports operator handoff and control at distances up to 100 kilometers (62 miles). The platform can also function as a communications relay to extend netted command-and-control between units.<\/p>\n

The new Switchblade 400 fills a mid-range, man-portable slot aimed at anti-armor missions.<\/p>\n

Weighing under 40 pounds (18 kilograms) for the all-up round, it uses rocket-assisted takeoff for fast launches and is designed to be ready within five minutes.<\/p>\n

The company positions the 400 as plug-and-play with common launch tubes, with an onboard automatic target recognition capability able to spot targets with precision day or night.<\/p>\n

A Modular Approach\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

AeroVironment also introduced the Switchblade 300 Block 20 system, which gains a modular payload bay that can accept an explosively formed penetrator warhead, increasing its effectiveness against armored threats.<\/p>\n

The full system weighs about 7.2 pounds (3.3 kilograms) and can move from backpack to activation in less than two minutes.<\/p>\n

It pairs improved sensors and a panning camera suite with a touchscreen, tap-to-target interface. With an optional 30-kilometer (19-mile) antenna, it can strike targets beyond line of sight.<\/p>\n

The company said all three variants follow Modular Open Systems Approach principles, allowing for seamless integration into modern command-and-control platforms.<\/p>\n
