El US Army ha lanzado un requerimiento a la industria local, para evaluar la capacidad de afrontar un contrato de 10 a\u00f1os, destinado a la fabricaci\u00f3n de 20.787 veh\u00edculos t\u00e1cticos de infanter\u00eda (ISV). Con adjudicaci\u00f3n prevista para Jul 2028 y entregas a partir de finales de 2029, el programa busca aumentar la flota de ISV de esa fuerza que actualmente produce GM Defense y que se basa en el empleo de componentes comerciales. En paralelo, GM Defense compite hoy contra Ford Motor Co. y BC Customs. El veh\u00edculo tiene dos versiones (9 y 5 soldados), es helitransportable, con capacidad de vadeo (75cm) y capaz de superar pendientes de 60 grados. The US Army has launched a market survey to evaluate industry capacity for a potential 10-year contract to adopt 20,787 additional Infantry Squad Vehicles<\/a> (ISVs).<\/p>\n

The potential award would double the force\u2019s current acquisition objective<\/a>, bringing total planned inventory to approximately 32,400 platforms.<\/p>\n

Production plans outline 106 vehicles in 2028 before ramping to approximately 2,000 units annually through 2038.<\/p>\n

The target contract award is July 2028, with deliveries beginning in late fiscal 2029.<\/p>\n

Incumbent producer GM Defense currently builds the ISV platform using commercial pickup components, while competing against Ford Motor Co. and BC Customs for a separate ISV-Heavy contract<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Industry responses are due in late November.<\/p>\n

ISV Specifications<\/strong><\/p>\n

The effort outlines requirements for 9,003 nine-passenger ISV-9 units and 11,784 five-passenger ISV-Utility variants.<\/p>\n

Both lightweight variants utilize a common off-road chassis capable of traversing 60 percent grades and have an average speed of 55 miles (86 kilometers) per hour<\/p>\n

The vehicles should be transportable inside CH-47 Chinook helicopters, via UH-60 Black Hawk sling loads, and through low-velocity air drops.<\/p>\n

Additional features include 24-volt electrical systems, run-flat tires, blackout lighting, and 30-inch (75-centimeter) water-fording capabilities.<\/p>\n

Multiyear Strategy and Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n

In support of the program, the service is evaluating a multiyear procurement structure to secure volume discounts and requested $527 million to acquire 2,418 ISVs in fiscal 2027<\/p>\n

Senate authorizers have also drafted legislation granting multiyear purchasing authority to support rapidly fielding vehicles to Mobile Brigade Combat Teams.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the army is requesting pricing for semi-autonomous integration kits and demanding unlimited technical data rights to establish full in-house maintenance capabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cDependent upon availability of funds, there is a requirement to procure new vehicles along with hardware, services, and other deliverables,\u201d the army stated in the notice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo ensure the most streamlined, competitive, and cost-effective approach, the government is utilizing the results of this market survey to determine the feasibility of several procurement pathways.\u201d<\/p>\n
