El Proyecto denominado <strong>HALE \u2013 UAV (High Altitude Long Endurance &#8211; UAV),<\/strong> que deber\u00e1 tener un techo operativo m\u00ednimo de 20.000 m y una autonom\u00eda de 36 hs, deber\u00e1 estar armado con un \u00a0Laser de Gran potencia, capaz de neutralizar Misiles ICBM en su fase de\u00a0 lanzamiento (Boost Phase). El esquema de Defensa A\u00e9rea \u00a0y Misil\u00edstica \u00a0\u201cen capas\u201d, actualmente en servicio, se basa en la capacidad de detecci\u00f3n de radares y sat\u00e9lites, y en la letalidad de los Misiles propios dispuestos estrat\u00e9gicamente en Mar y Tierra. La\u00a0 incorporaci\u00f3n de los sistemas HALE- UAV, \u00a0agregar\u00eda \u00a0entonces modernas plataformas a\u00e9reas \u00a0aut\u00f3nomas, con capacidad letal para actuar sobre los ICBM. Se estima que el desarrollo podr\u00eda estar completado alrededor del a\u00f1o 2023.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"article-image alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janes.com\/images\/assets\/412\/71412\/1651251_-_main.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"398\" height=\"224\" \/>The United States is looking to field a laser-armed unmanned aircraft to intercept intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) towards the middle of the next decade, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) disclosed on 13 June.<\/p>\n<p>In a solicitation posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website, the MDA Advanced Technology Directorate said it requires a high-altitude long-endurance (HALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with the payload capacity needed to carry a high-energy laser system payload to high altitudes for Boost Phase Intercept (BPI) of ICBMs in the 2023 timeframe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The results of this RFI [request for information] will inform future programme options for maturing BPI technology and capability following the current Low Power Laser Demonstrator (LPLD) effort.
