Ello implica el desarrollo de plataformas estabilizadas que permitan por ejemplo, realizar disparos con un fusil de sniper desde un helic\u00f3ptero, pero que el tirador est\u00e9 operando el arma a cubierto\u00a0 desde una consola a distancia. Los desarrollos est\u00e1n orientados a armas individuales y a las operadas por una dotaci\u00f3n. Podr\u00edan\u00a0 incluso sensar si el blanco dispone o no de chaleco de protecci\u00f3n, de forma tal de dirigir el proyectil hacia un sector m\u00e1s vulnerable. El objetivo final es lograr que el soldado individual, disponga de capacidades\u00a0 similares a las que cuenta el apuntador de un blindado moderno para disparar sobre blancos en movimiento.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/resizer\/aGBCgEZ5XVCA6Whw_Bd7Zj2CTtY=\/1200x0\/filters:quality(100)\/arc-anglerfish-arc2-prod-mco.s3.amazonaws.com\/public\/SWQJCVPWCZEBDMGY4QB6KN2NMA.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"406\" height=\"304\" \/>Army researchers are targeting ways to make small arms more accurate by removing the shooter from the loop.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">The gear they\u2019re working on ranges from platforms that allow a sniper to insert his rifle for better stabilization while shooting from a helicopter, to nearly fully-automated robotic firing systems that can stand alone on the battlefield while the soldier fires via remote control behind cover.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re &#8230; letting the computer do its thing so all the solder has to do is pull the trigger,\u201d said Terence Rice, a project manager engineer at Army Materiel Command\u2019s Research, Development and Engineering Command.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">Rice and researchers with his team presented and displayed some of the equipment at this week\u2019s Association of the U.S. Army\u2019s Annual Meeting &amp; Exposition.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">Researchers are looking at both individual and crew-served weapons. They want soldiers with small arms to have the same abilities as an M1 Abrams tank, to fire on the move and hit targets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">System sensors identify targets and track them as they move by drawing a digital \u201cbox\u201d around the threat. Test have shown accurate center mass hits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">But, Rice said, the next step is having the system adjust fire. For instance, if the target is wearing body armor, rather than aim for center mass, the system would strike a more vulnerable part.
