Los calibres seleccionados, son el .338 NM, el .300 NM y el afamado 7.62mm. Cabe destacar que la citada compa\u00f1\u00eda, es reconocida adem\u00e1s por la provisi\u00f3n de su fusil M82 A3 en calibre .50, de empleo preferentemente antimaterial.<!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">Special operators will soon have the Advanced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/off-duty\/gearscout\/shot-show\/2018\/01\/24\/longtime-military-optics-maker-unveils-new-scope-for-army-snipers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sniper Rifle<\/a>\u00a0with three different calibers to choose from on the same platform built by Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, a company well known for its .50 caliber\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2019\/01\/24\/dod-just-bought-this-formidable-new-sniper-rifle-in-300-prc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sniper rifles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-marine-corps\/2018\/05\/10\/the-us-military-could-replace-the-m240-and-legendary-ma-deuce-a-lot-sooner-than-you-think\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Special Operations Command\u00a0<\/a>announced this week that they have awarded a nearly $50 million contract to Barrett to produce their Multi-Role Adaptive Design for the ASR over the next five years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbo.gov\/index.php?s=opportunity&amp;mode=form&amp;tab=core&amp;id=93f20617abe3780057ca2e825c9c2529&amp;_cview=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0ASR\u00a0<\/a>replaces the Precision Sniper Rifle for special ops snipers. It is a bolt action rifle that can be converted to fire .338 Norma Mag, .300 NM and 7.62 mm calibers.<\/p>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">\u201cThe United States Department of Defense announced today that Barrett has been selected to provide their MRAD as the U.S. Special Operations Command Advanced Sniper Rifle system, designated as Mk21,\u201d the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">\u201cThis marks the first time in history that a father and son have had rifle designs adopted by the US military: Ronnie Barrett with M107 and Chris Barrett with Mk21.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">The company also makes the M107, designated as the M82A3, using the .50 caliber round for busting barriers and penetrating vehicle protection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-oembed_response\">\n<div class=\"element element-oembed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"youtube-4627317\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IvwW4Rtva7c?feature=oembed\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div class=\"element element-oembed\">\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">In February the Defense Department also announced the purchase of the MRAD in .300 PRC, a different caliber than what was requested for the ASR.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">Last year SOCOM officials announced that they would replace their 7.62 mm sniper rifles with the 6.5 mm Creedmoor.
