Ello permitir\u00eda a la artiller\u00eda terrestre de esos pa\u00edses, alcanzar con gran precisi\u00f3n objetivos hasta 150km de distancia.<!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/resizer\/BKR6fjSib2jw7zGRqOy4nhdsv4E=\/1200x0\/filters:quality(100)\/arc-anglerfish-arc2-prod-mco.s3.amazonaws.com\/public\/CYJEDRRQ4JCGLKUT7UBIM2B2LY.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"411\" height=\"231\" \/>WASHINGTON \u2014 After conducting a third test launch of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/video\/2015\/03\/10\/boeings-ground-launched-small-diameter-bomb-in-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ground-launched small diameter bomb<\/a>\u00a0this month, Boeing and Saab now believe they have the data necessary to move the munition into production, company officials said Monday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">Next, the focus moves to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/digital-show-dailies\/ausa\/2019\/10\/14\/what-risks-is-the-us-army-taking-to-prep-for-future-warfare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nailing down a first customer<\/a>\u00a0for the munition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">With the U.S. Army focused on its Long Range Precision Fires program \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/digital-show-dailies\/ausa\/2019\/10\/14\/how-far-will-the-armys-precision-strike-missile-fly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">which could see the service field a ground-based missile capable of striking targets up to 499 kilometers away<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 Boeing and Saab see international militaries as the most probable market for the ground-launched small diameter bomb, or GLSDB, which has a range of 150 kilometers.<\/p>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">\u201cI think with this type of creative solution, it really fits across a broader customer set because we\u2019re taking an existing capability, maximizing it and creating an opportunity [for those] that don\u2019t have the ability to have a robust air force,\u201d Jim Leary, Boeing\u2019s director of global sales and marketing for its weapons portfolio, said during a briefing at the Association for the U.S. Army\u2019s annual conference. \u201cWe\u2019re looking mostly for us to help the U.S. military\u2019s partners and grow some partner capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">Several European countries have expressed interest in the capability, added Svein Daae, Saab\u2019s director of business management for missile systems.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">The GLSDB brings together Boeing\u2019s GBU-39B small diameter bomb with the M26 rocket \u2014 an unguided cluster munition that has largely been phased out by militaries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">oeing and Saab have positioned GLSDB as a low-cost option for countries looking for a precision weapon to replace cluster munitions, particularly for those that do not have large air forces capable of using the air-launched SDB.<\/p>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">The munition fits into a standard launch container and could be fired from the Multiple Launch Rocket System, used by several U.S. allies and partner nations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">The companies first fired the GLSDB in 2015, testing the integration of the GBU-39 and M26 rocket. Another launch, in 2017, validated the guidance system of the weapon, Daae said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\" mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">The latest test, which occurred at And\u00f8ya Test Center in Andenes, Norway, verified that the system could hit a target 130 kilometers away, Daae said.
