Un ambicioso programa de modernizaci\u00f3n integral que incluye motorizaci\u00f3n, transmisi\u00f3n, m\u00f3dulos lanzadores y el sofisticado CFCS (Common Fire Control System), llevar\u00e1 al sistema a su versi\u00f3n M270 A2, lo que le permitir\u00e1 extender su vida \u00fatil de servicio en el US ARMY hasta el a\u00f1o 2050.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. \u2013<\/b> Fire support experts at Lockheed Martin Corp. will refurbish 44 M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) field <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militaryaerospace.com\/home\/article\/14036364\/artillery-longrange-long-barrel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">artillery<\/a> systems for the U.S. Army under terms of a $226.3 million order announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Officials of the Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., are asking the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control segment in Grand Prairie, Texas, to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militaryaerospace.com\/sensors\/article\/14178292\/torpedo-sonar-upgrade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">upgrade<\/a> existing M270A1 and decommissioned M270A0 MLRS artillery pieces to the new M270A2 configuration.<\/p>\n<p>MLRS is a heavy tracked mobile launcher, transportable via C-17 and C-5 aircraft, that fires guided MLRS rockets and Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles.<\/p>\n<p>MLRS also will be able to fire the Army&#8217;s future Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) and Extended-Range GMLRS rockets, which are in development.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6219\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"339\" height=\"221\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2.jpg 339w, https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2-300x196.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px\" \/>The M270A2 is an upgraded variant of the Lockheed Martin M270 MLRS. It is scheduled to enter U.S. Army service next year. The A2 version features the Common <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militaryaerospace.com\/sensors\/article\/14073858\/firecontrol-radar-destroyers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fire Control<\/a> System (CFCS), as well as new engine, transmission, launcher-loader modules, and improved armored cabs.<\/p>\n<p>The CFCS will be common to the Army MLRS and to the High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).
