Saab has secured a Skr135m ($16.1m) contract to supply Carl-Gustaf M4 Ground Combat Indoor Trainer (GC IDT) to the Swedish Armed Forces.<\/p>\n
The new order was placed by the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) under the framework agreement signed in June 2019.<\/p>\n
As agreed, Saab will deliver complete Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon system training studios that will enable the Swedish forces to provide weapon training to around 100 soldiers simultaneously in a virtual environment.<\/p>\n
The training solution will include replica weapons, a virtual environment and an evaluation system.<\/p>\n
Saab will also deliver conversion kits that will help in turning a studio deployment into a standalone individual trainer with a small footprint.<\/p>\n
The GC IDT system can also be extended to provide training on additional weapon types ranging from small arms to shoulder-launched missiles.<\/p>\n

The Carl-Gustaf M4<\/a> is a man-portable, shoulder-launched weapon system for infantry forces. It can be used to destroy armoured tanks, neutralise landing craft and bunkers as well as for clearing obstacles.<\/p>\n The 2019 agreement enables the FMV, Estonian and Latvian armed forces to place orders for Carl-Gustaf M4 weapons, training systems and associated equipment during a ten year period.<\/p>\n Last month, Saab secured a contract to deliver Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon systems to the Norwegian Armed Forces<\/a>.<\/p>\n
