The <strong>Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics<\/strong> revealed its <strong>Low Altitude Guard 1 system<\/strong> (known as Dikong Weishi in chinese) at the recent <strong>2015 Beijing Weapons Expo<\/strong>. Resembling a shipping container with a turret strapped on top, the laser weapon system features a <strong>10 kilowatt<\/strong> that can reportedly <strong>shoot down drones up to two kilometres away<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/trends.directindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Chin-Laser-Turret-Low-Altitude-Guard-1-a-e1438611834252.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14699\" src=\"http:\/\/trends.directindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Chin-Laser-Turret-Low-Altitude-Guard-1-a-e1438611834252.jpg\" alt=\"China-Laser-Turret-Low-Altitude-Guard-1 a\" width=\"700\" height=\"569\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Its <strong>electro-optical<\/strong> turret can track objects to a <strong>distance of five kilometres<\/strong>, where its automated fire control system can lock onto suspicious drones and prepare to <strong>neutralize them<\/strong>. The Low Altitude Guard 1 was developed with the aid of <strong>China Jiuyuan Hi-tech Equipment Corporation<\/strong> (CJHTE).
