Varias empresas l\u00edderes en el \u00e1rea de Defensa, compiten en el mercado, por presentar sistemas capaces de detectar, adquirir y neutralizar la amenaza de las Armas Atan. La empresa Lockheed Martin lleva adelante el <strong>MAPS (Modular Active Protection System),<\/strong> consistente en un kit modular que permitir\u00eda integrar Hardware y Soft de arquitectura abierta, con los sensores y las contramedidas electr\u00f3nicas y de energ\u00eda cin\u00e9tica, en diferentes tipos de veh\u00edculos de combate.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The US Army will test out a new open-architecture processor designed to work with different active protection systems (APSs) on multiple ground combat vehicles. Under the Modular Active Protection System (MAPS) effort, Lockheed Martin has received an initial contract worth up to USD30 million to produce and deliver these base kits.<\/p>\n<p>David Rohall, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control\u2019s advanced vehicle defense systems programme manager, told <em>Janes<\/em> the company received an initial USD1.5 million contract award in December 2020 and has since received an additional USD3 million in funding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cActivities include development of MAPS base kit hardware and software, platform integration and on-vehicle live-fire demonstrations,\u201d Rohall wrote in a 16 February email. \u201cWe expect the \u2026 contract to be incrementally funded over the 36-month period of performance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company is currently under contract to deliver five base kits to the army for integration and testing on Abrams main battle tanks, armored multipurpose vehicles, Bradley fighting vehicles, and Stryker vehicles, although that number could rise to 20 base kits.<\/p>\n<p>MAPS is part of the service\u2019s long-term vision to outfit ground vehicles with a common system to detect, track, and defeat rocket-propelled grenades and anti-tank guided missiles.
