These include 41 bulk carriers and 24 crude tankers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>Along with oil, the sea traffic is largely consumer products such as clothing, furniture, manufacturing components and car parts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7511\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/117711604_ever_given_airbus_976.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"976\" height=\"549\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/117711604_ever_given_airbus_976.jpg 976w, https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/117711604_ever_given_airbus_976-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fie.undef.edu.ar\/ceptm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/117711604_ever_given_airbus_976-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 976px) 100vw, 976px\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re hearing reports now that shipping companies are starting to divert their ships around the southern tip of Africa, the Cape of Good Hope, which adds about 3,500 miles to the journey and up to 12 days,&#8221; Guy Platten, the secretary general of the International Chamber of Shipping, told the BBC&#8217;s Today programme.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>He said the ship appeared to be &#8220;hard fast aground&#8221;, adding that freeing the vessel from the bank was taking much longer and was more complicated than had been initially expected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>Mr Platten added there would be &#8220;some major real-world effects on the supply chain&#8221;, explaining that consumers would would ultimately bear the cost.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>The Ever Given <a class=\"ssrcss-hiczm3-InlineLink e1no5rhv0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cma-cgm.com\/ebusiness\/schedules\/voyage\/detail?voyageReference=0LA8ME1MA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had been scheduled to arrive in the port of Felixstowe<\/a> in early April.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-mysbf6-ComponentWrapper-CrossheadComponentWrapper e1xue1i84\" data-component=\"crosshead-block\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-qozapo-StyledHeading e1fj1fc10\"><strong>&#8216;Too large?&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>Container ships have nearly doubled in size in the past decade as global trade expands, making the job of moving them much harder when they get stuck.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>&#8220;What are we thinking? Have vessels gotten too large? But salvage officials said the congestion could last days or even weeks, in a blow to global supply chains already strained by the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>Some companies will be considering flying replacement merchandise for higher value products, or transporting them via trains.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>Two major shipping companies, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, said they are looking into options to avoid the Suez Canal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>Egypt&#8217;s Suez Canal Authority (SCA) said it was doing all it could to refloat the ship with tug boats, dredgers and heavy earth-moving equipment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i83\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-3z08n3-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi2\">\n<p>Kitack Lim, secretary general of the International Maritime Organisation, said: &#8221; I am aware of the implications of the temporary closure of the canal, and I ask for patience from stakeholders across the supply chain as everyone works to ensure that the ship, its crew, its cargo and the environment remain protected.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Fuente:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/business-56533250\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>https:\/\/www.bbc.com<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;\u00bfQu\u00e9 estamos pensando? \u00bfLos barcos se han vuelto demasiado grandes?
