DEVCOM es el desarrollador de tecnolog\u00eda m\u00e1s grande del Ej\u00e9rcito de ese pa\u00eds y emplea a m\u00e1s de 14.000 personas en 100 ubicaciones en todo el mundo.\u00a0Como parte del Comando de Futuros del Ej\u00e9rcito, el equipo DEVCOM se esfuerza para encontrar nuevas soluciones todos los d\u00edas.\u00a0Nuestros expertos impulsan la innovaci\u00f3n, mejoran las tecnolog\u00edas existentes y dise\u00f1an soluciones para las limitaciones t\u00e9cnicas.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Recruiting the next generation of engineers and scientists was a key initiative for DEVCOM during the Great Minds in STEM conference that was held virtually October 11-22, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, or DEVCOM\u2019s, eight centers and lab participated in the career fair, interviewing candidates around the country. DEVCOM is the Army\u2019s largest technology developer and employs more than 14,000 personnel in 100 locations around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The theme for the 33rd annual GMiS conference was &#8220;First-Class Diversity, World-Class STEM.&#8221; GMiS is a non-profit organization that promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics careers in diverse underserved communities. The conference featured recruitment and career networking with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and top-tier graduate schools interested in hiring minority engineering and technology college students, undergraduates, post doctorates, executives from engineering academic institutions and executives in the engineering community.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cDEVCOM remains committed to the development and support of STEM capabilities in underserved and underrepresented educational institutions.\u00a0Engaging in sponsorships with events like GMiS gives us direct connection to our commitment to diversity. These institutions provide a wealth of knowledge and diversity of thought and perspective, which is critical to the success of DEVCOM&#8217;s unique mission,\u201d said Deborah Dawson, DEVCOM Human Resources director.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>During the two day career fair held October 21-22, DEVCOM representatives interviewed 30 prospective candidates and extended one letter of intent. The DEVCOM team, which has access to an additional 545 resumes stored in the Yello Talent Acquisition Platform for future career opportunities, plans to conduct follow-up calls to five more candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The event supports several efforts in DEVCOM\u2019s Campaign Plan \u2014 to recruit, train and maintain a diverse and highly skilled workforce of scientists, engineers and supporting staff, and to create awareness of the command. It also aligns with DEVCOM\u2019s Future of Work program, which supports attracting and retaining \u2018the best talent anywhere\u2019 and forming dispersed, cross-competency\/cross-organization teams that support DEVCOM\u2019s mission to rapidly deliver integrated solutions for Soldiers. Other key features of the Future of Work program include remote work, flexible work schedules and innovative hiring practices.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEvents such as this one are great for the DEVCOM team to continue building relationships and spread the word about the great work we do.
