MARSS, the innovative security solutions firm, has announced the launch of its fully-equipped, containerised Joint Operation Centre (NiDAR X-JOC) – a significant expansion to its NiDAR X product range. This state-of-the-art command and control centre is designed to tackle the rising threats of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with its versatile, quickly-deployable capabilities.
The evolving nature of threats necessitates the development of agile, quick-response solutions. MARSS’s NiDAR X-JOC addresses this need by facilitating easy transport to any location, with the potential to become fully operational within hours. The cutting-edge system is already functional in a global context, protecting critical infrastructures across various regions.
The NiDAR X-JOC is fitted with advanced long-range optical and infrared cameras for comprehensive 360-degree verification and tracking. It comes equipped with an in-built radar system capable of detecting threats from as far as 30km away, along with RF and GPS jamming countermeasures. The central NiDAR system, unique to MARSS, integrates the data collected from these sensors, enabling automatic detection, classification, and response to a multitude of threats.
The X-JOC possesses the capability to operate as a standalone unit or can be integrated with legacy systems including kinetic and electronic effectors, cameras, radar, and sonar. In addition, it seamlessly integrates with MARSS’s RADiRguard perimeter security system.
MARSS Safety and Security’s Managing Director, Frederik Giepmans, underscored the pressing need for such solutions. He stated, “Drones are cheap, disposable, and lethal, and pose an ever-increasing threat to infrastructure, civilian life, and national security. This has been witnessed most recently in Ukraine and on a regular basis in the Middle East.”
He added that the X-JOC offers great versatility, with a quick set-up and shutdown time. This makes it the ideal choice for a forward operation base or a temporary solution until permanent systems are installed.
X-JOC is available in 20ft and 40ft units, is completely modular, and includes command and control stations. It can also function as an office or briefing room, capable of housing up to five operators. The system comes with self-lifting heavy-duty legs, allowing easy loading and unloading from transport vehicles without the need for a crane. Furthermore, it can be positioned on uneven terrains without any need for foundations.
Designed to operate in diverse environments, the X-JOC is prepared to function in marine locations and regions with extreme heat. Its built-in power generation unit ensures it can be deployed in remote locations.
Feedback from long-term customers has been instrumental in shaping the standard specifications of the X-JOC. Its modular design, however, ensures flexibility and allows customisation to meet specific commercial and military requirements.
