MicroPOP and NanoPOPIsrael Aerospace Industries (IAI) is expanding its electro-optic (EO/IR) family with new payloads designed for tactical UAVs, robotic vehicles and drone applications, for use by ground and homeland security forces. The new EO/IR payloads are developed by TAMAM, the inertial navigation and electro-optical house of IAI, and will be displayed at the Aero India exhibition in Bangalore India, February 14-18, 2017 (Hall A, Booth A1.1a).

Weighing only 1.1 kg and equipped with Full HD day and Uncooled IR sensors, MicroPOP is a lightweight, all-metal, day/night gyro stabilized observation system for long-range observation missions and ultra-fast panoramic photography. The MicroPOP payload is designed for use in tactical UAVs such as the IAI BirdEye 650/650D/400, loitering munitions such as IAI’s Green Dragon, and small robotic vehicles. The newly-launched MicroPOP is the upgraded version of the MicroPOP which sold hundreds of units to clients across the globe with day or night sensor.

NanoPOP, a new payload weighing only 200 grams, features day and night camera designed with small drone and small robotic vehicles in mind. It provides high-quality observation capabilities for ranges of hundreds of meters in both day and night. Robust image stabilization capabilities ensure long-range observation performance, and an ultra-fast panoramic image capture rate.

Avi Elisha, General Manager of IAI’s TAMAM Division, said, “With the market for tactical EO/IR growing rapidly, we see strong business potential among integrators and partners who need high-quality, lightweight stabilized payloads. As Israel’s EO/IR knowhow hub and global leader, TAMAM is proud to provide solutions for the broad gamut of applications used by our clients worldwide.”
The new tactical payloads join TAMAM’s EO/IR family, which includes the M19, MOSP3000, POP300LR,  POP300 and MiniPOP.
