La agencia de investigación del Ministerio de Defensa Indio (DRDO) , llevó a cabo el 27 de marzo la destrucción de un satélite de órbita baja , con un misil lanzado desde una isla frente al estado de Odisha (este), convirtiéndose así en el cuarto país del mundo en lograr esta proeza tecnológica.
India has entered an elite space club with the accomplishment of ‘Mission Shakti’ when the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) blew up an Indian satellite in a Low Earth Orbit into smithereens. India had already achieved the capability of shooting out moving targets in the space way back 2011 and has been testing long-range missiles for years, although public attention on the space programme has been mostly on its civilian and scientific domain.
