AKINCI S-1, el drone de combate turco armado con bombas de 1.000 kg

La empresa Turca BAYKAR Defence ha presentado el AKINCI S-1, su UCAS (Unmanned Combat Aerial System) de gran tamaño, equipado con armamento de enorme poder destructivo, como la bomba guiada por GPS/INS HGK-84 de 1.000 kg. Además, la industria de defensa de ese país, ha desarrollado kits que permiten transformar las bombas de uso aéreo convencionales MK-84, en bombas guiadas de gran precisión, lo que convierten al sistema autónomo AKINCI, en una destacada plataforma aérea de combate.


The first mass-produced version of Turkey’s Akinci unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), the Akinci S-1, was seen armed with a HGK-84 bomb in its underbelly for the first time.

A picture of Akinci S-1 equipped with HGK-84 bombs along with the drone’s second prototype PT-2 was shared by Selcuk Bayraktar, Chief Technology Officer of drone maker Baykar Savunma, in a tweet, on Wednesday.

The Akinci S-1 has previously been tested equipped with MAM-C, MAM-L and MAM-T munitions. Compared to the other bombs, the HGK-84 is heavy, weighing around 1 ton.

Developed by TUBITAK SAGE, a HGK guidance kit is GPS/INS guidance kit that turns existing 2000 lb Mk-84 general purpose bombs and penetrator bombs into air to ground smart bombs.
