IRYDA+ X1, innovación en drones y reindustrialización de defensa en Polonia

Durante la 34ª Exposición Internacional de la Industria de la Defensa (MSPO 2026) en Polonia, la firma polaca MBF Group S.A. y la compañía turca Shark Aviation realizarán la presentación del sistema UAS IRYDA+ X1. Este proyecto es parte de de una alianza estratégica en la que Turquía lidera el desarrollo tecnológico y Polonia la incorporación de la capacidad industrial específica en ese paía. Es presentado como un programa integral de ingeniería, ya en la fase activa de pruebas del sistema autónomo. Los ensayos realizados demostraron el control simultáneo de múltiples plataformas desde una sola estación terrestre, en misiones autónomas de hasta 24 km de alcance. El programa está alineado de manera integral con la iniciativa estatal polaca Central Industrial District 2 (COP 2), cuyo objetivo es revitalizar la capacidad industrial nacional, para la fabricación de productos tecnológicos de alto valor tecnológico agregado.


The Polish-Turkish unmanned-systems programme may eventually be linked to the development of integration, servicing and manufacturing capabilities in Poland.

MBF Group S.A. is preparing the first public presentation of the IRYDA+ X1 unmanned aircraft system in Poland and Europe. The presentation will take place on 8 September 2026, during the opening day of the 34th International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO in Kielce.

The system will be introduced during the National Scientific Conference entitled “Dual-Use Technologies as an Element of Strengthening National Defence and Economic Development.” MBF Group has been invited to participate in a discussion panel and deliver a paper devoted to IRYDA+ X1, its development to date and its potential future industrial implementation.

IRYDA+ X1 is being developed through cooperation between MBF Group S.A., a company listed on the NewConnect market in Warsaw, and Türkiye-based Shark Aviation, led by CEO Saban Abur. Shark Aviation is responsible for the technological and engineering aspects of the system, while MBF Group develops its business, organisational and international dimension.

In July 2026, an MBF Group delegation attended a technical demonstration conducted in Konya. The first stage involved five prototype IRYDA+ X1 platforms performing different technical scenarios, including an autonomous mission profile of approximately 24 kilometres and a simultaneous operation of two aircraft managed by one operator through a single Ground Control Station.

“The COP 2 project is intended to rebuild Poland’s capacity to manufacture technologically advanced final products rather than limit domestic industry to simple assembly or the supply of individual components. Unmanned systems may become one of the practical areas of such reindustrialisation. An integration and manufacturing facility connected with the IRYDA+ X1 programme could develop engineering capabilities and provide a new economic stimulus for a selected region,” said Professor Paweł Soroka, Coordinator of the COP 2 Project and representative of the Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski Polish Industrial Lobby.

During MSPO, the partners intend to present the development path of the programme, the results of the work conducted in Türkiye and the assumptions for subsequent stages. MBF Group plans to distinguish clearly between functions already demonstrated and capabilities that remain subject to further testing, integration or qualification. The presentation will concern an actual engineering system under development rather than a concept, visualisation or purely promotional project.

The partners’ ambition is not limited to presenting or selling individual aircraft. One of the strategic directions under consideration is the establishment of a Polish facility initially responsible for system integration, final assembly, testing, quality control, servicing, operator training and technical support, followed at a later stage by selected manufacturing processes.

“For us, MSPO will primarily be a venue for discussions with potential users, system integrators, industrial companies and research institutions. We want to present the actual development level of IRYDA+ X1, secure invitations for further demonstrations and define the conditions for subsequent cooperation. In the longer term, our objective is to build sustainable industrial capabilities around the programme in Poland,” said Janusz Czarnecki, President of the Management Board of MBF Group S.A.

A potential investment could be located in an area with an industrial tradition, technical and educational resources and access to qualified personnel, while also requiring new investment and technological specialisation. No decision has yet been taken regarding the location, budget or implementation schedule.

The concept is consistent with the objectives of Central Industrial District 2, known as COP 2. The initiative is intended to operate as a nationwide network connecting companies with universities and research institutes and supporting domestic final-product manufacturing in sectors important to Poland’s economy and national security.

MBF Group stresses that the proposed facility remains a strategic direction rather than a completed investment decision. Its implementation would require a feasibility study, agreements covering intellectual property, licensing and know-how transfer, access to financing and separate contracts with the project partners.

The immediate objective remains the presentation of IRYDA+ X1 during MSPO 2026 and discussions concerning further demonstrations, technological cooperation, system integration and potential commercialisation.
